At a church activity a week ago, we learned the basics of crochet. I grew up around crochet...my grandma and aunt are both FANTASTIC advanced crocheters, yet somehow I knew nothing more than a basic chain stitch and that was sketchy at best. So I am proud to announce that now I know enough to actually make something. Introducing my first crochet creation:
Isn't it PURTY!? And you know what the best part is? A friend taught me how to do the stitches, but I came up with this method of making the flower myself. The brown crochet underneath is one of those headband beanie things, which is still a work in progress.
I am so excited to have a new skill in my crafting arsenal, but truly, did I need another temptation at craft stores? Talk about opening a can of worms!

I love crocheting! I have a really cute beanie pattern I should give you. I've tried following a few patterns for flowers and haven't loved them... but yours is super cute! I'll have to take come lessons from you!
Welcome to the crochet world! Crochet is a fun creative outlet with endless possibilities. I can't walk past the yarn section of any store without buy some for a future project. I will have to share some easy patterns for you to try.
Welcome aboard! I love crocheting! Although you need to be warned that it can become very addictive. For me, almost nothing can compare to holding yarn or thread in one hand with a hook in the other. I have to admit that I am an addict. It's also my most important activity for reducing stress.
Grandma, I am absolutely in love! Crochet is so much fun!
