A Few Little Projects Around The House

Project #1: Found the frame with beadboard center at the thrift store for $1.50. It was raw wood, so I just painted it white and pink and added a 39 cent "S" monogram. So simple and it will look adorable in my little girl's room. Pictures of her room are overdue, but it's not quite how I want it yet, so you'll just have to wait. :)

Project #2: A little grouping hanging on the wall in my kitchen using the plate I decorated. I'm stumped on what to put inside the frame though. Any good ideas, all you amazing crafty ladies?

Ball Of Yarn

Just had to share this fab etsy shop with all you ladies...

www.ballofyarn.etsy.com

I found out today that my husband's cousin sells the most amazing crocheted things. I got to touch them and try them on and let me tell you, she makes amazing stuff. Look:

It's a scarf with a hood attached! Isn't that brilliant?! And this one is sooooo pretty in person.

This is a neck warmer. Cute, huh? I just love the big, vintage buttons and the yarn is incredibly soft. It would feel so great on my neck all winter. So chic too!

And last but not least, check out this adorable sleep sack. I touched this one today too and let me just tell you, the picture does not do it justice. The yarn is so yummy! Really, it is just so cute. I wanted to get pregnant again just to have a wee one small enough to use it, even if it is the middle of the blazing hot summer. So go check her out and start dreaming of cooler winter days.

A Preemie Gift

My husband's cousin recently had a baby three months early. Little Nora is going to be in the NICU for a few months before she is big enough to come home. I've wondered what I could do for their family and a few days ago, the idea came to me. The only things Nora can wear are hair bows. So I went through my ribbon box and made lots of teeny tiny hair bows!

I taped them to a piece of cardstock, slid them into a fun celophane bag, and made a little topper with some scrapbook stuff. Easy peasy, and I think the mommy will have fun accessorizing her little preemie!

Polka Dot Dress

Can I just say that I love sewing for my little girl? She needed another dress for church (is it just me or do they grow out of everything at the same time?!) so I pulled out this polka dot fabric left over from another project.

I made up the pattern and I'll admit this whole project gave me a headache. I sewed and unpicked the dang bodice at least five times before I figured out how to make it work. Errr! But it's done now and I'm happy with it.

The Front. What a drama queen. haha. The skirt is very full, which I LOVE. Little girls look so cute in full, fluffy skirts.

The Back. Gotta love bows!

Front Detail. I saved the rhinestone buckle from another shirt I took apart to make something else out of. I knew it would be perfect for this dress.

So that's it. I love how it has a flirty forties, glam girl feel to it. And I LOVE black, white and pink together. I wish I had one too!
